IV Ketamine • IM Ketamine • Oral Ketamine

Self-Pay Treatment Options | Broward County & South Florida

At Blue Umbrella Psychiatry, we offer IV, IM, and oral ketamine therapy as structured, medically supervised self-pay treatment options for adults struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma-related symptoms, and emotional “stuckness.”

For individuals who feel they have tried traditional medications or therapy without enough relief, ketamine may offer a different pathway forward.

Our approach combines:

• Psychiatric expertise
• Intentional treatment design
• Therapeutic integration
• A calm, supportive healing environment

WHAT IS KETAMINE therapy?

Ketamine is a medication that works differently from traditional antidepressants. Rather than primarily targeting serotonin, ketamine acts on the brain’s glutamate system — which plays a key role in:

• Neuroplasticity (the brain’s ability to form new connections)
• Emotional processing
• Stress regulation
• Cognitive flexibility

Emerging research suggests ketamine may help reduce symptoms of:

• Treatment-resistant depression
• Major depressive disorder
• Anxiety disorders
• Trauma-related symptoms (including PTSD)
• Persistent rumination or emotional rigidity
• Suicidal thoughts (non-emergency context)

Unlike many traditional antidepressants that may take weeks to work, ketamine has been shown in clinical studies to produce rapid symptom improvement for some individuals — sometimes within days.

Results vary from person to person. Ketamine is not a cure, and outcomes cannot be guaranteed. It is a treatment tool used within a comprehensive mental health plan.

If you are experiencing a psychiatric emergency or active suicidal crisis, call 911 or 988 immediately. Ketamine is not a substitute for emergency care.

He attends the annual American Society of Ketamine Physicians, Psychotherapists & Practitioners (ASKP3) Conference, a national professional conference dedicated to the safe and ethical use of ketamine in mental health.

Your Ketamine Treatment Experience

at Blue Umbrella Psychiatry

Step 1

Comprehensive Consultation

Every patient begins with a consultation with our ketamine-trained psychiatric nurse practitioner.

This evaluation includes:

• Review of psychiatric and medical history
• Discussion of prior treatments
• Risk and safety screening
• Determination of IV, IM, or oral candidacy
• Personalized treatment planning

In some cases, the evaluation visit may be covered by insurance depending on your plan. All ketamine treatments are self-pay

Step 2

intentional treatment sessions

We offer three administration options:

IV Ketamine

IM Ketamine

Oral Ketamine

Each session includes:

• 60 minutes (oral) or 90 minutes (IV/IM) in a private treatment room
• Medical monitoring throughout
• Intention-setting at the beginning of session
• Your choice of music
• Optional aromatherapy
• A calm, structured therapeutic environment

Our goal is to create space for insight, emotional processing, and nervous system regulation.

Step 3

breakthrough lounge access

After your session, you will transition to our Breakthrough Lounge.

This space offers:

• Light refreshments and snacks
• Comfortable seating
• A calm environment to decompress
• Additional time to process your experience
• Gentle community presence with others undergoing care

This is not group therapy. It is a supportive transition space while you wait for your ride.

For safety reasons, patients may not drive after ketamine treatment and must arrange transportation home.

Step 4

integration & close-out session

Each ketamine package includes a close-out therapy session with one of our therapists.

Integration helps you:

• Reflect on emotional insights
• Evaluate progress
• Translate experience into long-term change
• Identify next steps in your care

Research and clinical experience suggest ketamine is most effective when paired with structured therapeutic support.

Ketamine Packages (4–6 Weeks)

Most treatment packages are completed over 4–6 weeks, depending on your individualized plan.

Packages include:

• A comprehensive consultation
• A preset number of IV, IM, or oral sessions
• Treatment room time (60 or 90 minutes per session)
• Breakthrough Lounge access after each treatment
• A close-out integration therapy session

All sessions must be scheduled in advance.

Single sessions may be offered after package completion at clinical discretion.

Packages are self-pay. Because IV, IM, and oral ketamine for mental health are off-label uses, they are not covered by insurance.

Can Ketamine Help With Suicidal Thoughts?

Research indicates ketamine may reduce suicidal thoughts more rapidly than traditional antidepressants for some individuals.

  • What is the difference between psychiatry and therapy?

Psychiatry and therapy are two ways of addressing mental health issues, but they differ in their approach, focus, and the professionals involved. Psychiatry involves using medications and medical treatments to manage mental health conditions. Therapy, on the other hand, focuses on talking and problem-solving techniques to help individuals cope with emotional or behavioral issues. Psychiatrists are medical doctors who have completed medical school followed by years of specialized training in psychiatry. Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners and Psychiatrists can prescribe medications. Therapists include various professionals like psychologists, licensed clinical social workers, or licensed professional counselors, who have different educational backgrounds and are trained in counseling and psychotherapy techniques.
